The existing space contains a small shed with the main function of cooking an general public living with guests and family. It has a barbecue area, kitchen and restroom. The pool sits outside and will be demolished, living the structure ready to be enclosed and become and extension of the original shed. The main request from the owner was to maintain and improve the feeling of being surrounded by green and feeling the outside protected from the drastic climate of the region.

The main request from the owner was to maintain and improve the feeling of being surrounded by green and feeling the outside protected from the drastic climate of the region.
A new kitchen for the wife was a need in the project, with multiple fridges and freezers for storage of meat and drinks for big occasions. A new furnace in the middle with a rustic oven and stove was also requested, with a living room and dining room all connected as one space to bring people together during big meals and events in family. The slope and already existing small garden, defined the living corner, and the kitchen is directly connected to the original barbecue space that remains in the same place.
Restraints, when matured and understood, wield freedom. Freedom does not exist in a vacuum, it involves the context and it has a relationship with the world, that is its structure must involve restraints. Therefore, to truly feel free, restrain walls should be around the space, which then leaves the opportunities of discovery and freedom to explore the nature that surrounds the shed. If the space was to be only a outside garden, there would be no feeling of surrounding, or enclosed by any element, that is because the walls restraints, even if faint and with openings inviting the outside to the inside, and the users to the outside, creating then the feeling of freedom inside the building.
